Photographers Unite! (before it's too late)

While it's easy to point to the Internet and digitization as the
reason photographers can no longer protect their content with any degree of efficiency - it is much harder to come up with new ideas that will compensate for that disruption.  Let's face it, this is about money.

Enter the MMS opportunity.  Mobile multimedia messaging (MMS) is not some great new art form that will inspire new heights of creativity at this point.  Its potential as a new tangible medium of expression is only just beginning.  But, at this moment in time - MMS is a secured system that can provide true accountability for transactions of your stuff being exchanged!

Where else are you going to find that in the digital age?  You certainly won't find it on the Internet.  No sir.  We missed that opportunity to monetize sharing.  It's certainly doable under certain circumstances, but then that's water over the damned so to speak.  MMS is separate from the Internet.   (the solution is below)

"My sincere hope is that anyone that reads this gets involved with GDRI if you care about the arts in any form it takes.  It is a vital movement and I support it 1000%."....Laurin Rinder

How to make an MMS version of your content using multiple images. How to make an MMS version of your content using a single image.

The Solution

The solution is you.  GDRI has filed an antitrust and unfair competition lawsuit against the operators of MMS, the wireless carriers.  To start, AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile and TracFone are currently named in this lawsuit.  It is a proposed class action (has to be certified).

Everything hinges upon what you do with this opportunity.  Wondering about new ideas that will compensate for the Internet disruption?  Here's one hell of a shot right here!  We believe the carriers have a legal responsibility to activate the accountability system they already have via MMS which in turn will enable a system of fair compensation for the creators of MMS content.

The solution is for you to get involved! and/or at least make and register MMS versions of your work.  ASAP!  You may do these things at a whopping 50% discount whenever and wherever you see this;  Fast Trak is ON!

Why are we doing this?  GDRI is an aggressive advocate for creators' and artists' rights in the digital/data age.  We don't just talk about stuff, we actually do stuff.  Stuff like suing the wireless carriers on behalf of creators and artists.  Don't you think it's about time you did something to help GDRI?  Legal strategies and administration costs money.  And so, the question is, do we continue fighting this fight with or without your help?

There are many ways to help us get this done.  The highest priority today is to raise money for our legal fund and administration as we back our members in their fight for fair compensation.

Your donation support is greatly appreciated.  Your donation will help us do the things we need to do to keep GDRI going and also get our initiatives through the process.  You may donate safely using our PayPal button above or send checks to:
